Since 2009, I've been helping female clients get fitter, stronger and healthier through strength training, metabolic conditioning and clean eating.

When you work with me, you're working with someone who has been on their own journey.  I combine my professional knowledge and skills with my personal experience to help my clients reach their goals.

A little bit about my own journey

Early 20s - I thought I was invincible and I ate whatever I wanted. By my mid-20s, my body shape started changing so I joined a gym. I exercised every day. Twice on some days. My exercise of choice... cardio and group exercise classes (aerobics back then).

Late 20s - I changed my diet and focused on portion control and I lost 10kg in 10 weeks, and I hired a personal trainer to help me get in shape.

30yo - my 10 year marriage ended so I stopped eating. I got very skinny. I started exercising like a maniac - lots of cardio.  I looked good in clothes, but I was definitely what you'd call skinny-fat.

Then I met the most incredible man and he changed my life in so many ways. I started eating again - eating good, healthy foods. I started training with weights. I started living an active lifestyle. I was healthy.

But I was still not entirely happy with my body. I still believed that if I weighed a magic number on the scales, my life would be better. I strived to reach that number. I'd get there for a week or so and then the number would rise. It was a stupid number anyway. A number I plucked out of my head.

At 36yo, through education and mentoring from a fantastic personal trainer, I realised that to get the shape I wanted, I needed to eat differently, eat more and I needed to do weight training.  Making the necessary improvements got me closer to the body that I'd wanted, and I soon realised the number on the scales really wasn't important.

It was at this point I was encouraged to enter a figure competition. For the first time in my life, I wasn't fat and I wasn't skinny-fat. I was muscular and athletic and I liked the way that felt and I started liking the way I looked.

Since then, I've competed six times in natural figure competitions. I've completely changed my approach to nutrition and exercise and now, in my 40s, I'm more confident in my body and my ability than ever before.

So, why would you hire a coach who has been overweight, has been underweight, has had disordered eating habits, has binged, has eaten to satisfy emotions, has restricted herself and flogged herself with cardio?

Because that's what makes me human, what makes me real, and what helps me help my clients.

It's these mistakes that have taught me what I know now. They've made me stronger and more self-aware.

That's why you'd hire a coach like me.
